Every house in the UK can have a different design of stairs from straight to curve. A standard straight set of stairs can vary by 150mm over 13 steps so it’s important to get the correct measurements.
If you need a Stairlift installed in your home, the normal first step for many years has been a pre-arranged visit by an experienced stairlift Surveyor who would measure your staircase look for any anomalies in the design that could possibly cause a problem and assess your needs providing you with a comprehensive no-obligation quote, but due to the current global pandemic in many cases this is now not possible or desired. As part of our steps to combat coronavirus and relieve pressure on the NHS, we’ve introduced a new and remote ‘Virtual Survey’ process, eliminating the need for someone to initially visit you in person.
We’ve developed a very simple way to work with you to get some basic measurements and pictures of your staircase, enabling us to determine suitability and pricing. The process is carried out using any mobile smartphone or tablet and usually takes about 30 minutes, our stairlift expert who has 25 years’ experience can take you through the process in a clear, step-by-step manner. By the end he will have a full understanding of your needs and will be able to advise on the best stairlift for your home.
Items you will need for the ‘virtual survey’ are a standard measuring tape, a pen and paper and a smartphone or tablet which can take and send photos. Our stairlift expert will explain all the measurements and pictures needed and guide you through the process. You will have the option to book a convenient slot that suits you. while booking a slot you will have the choice of several apps to use from, Skype,Zoom & Whatsapp are just a few.
Once all the details are ready, we will email a FREE firm quote for the work. There is no obligation to proceed and we will not pressure you, but if you choose to go ahead we can schedule a time for the installation, which could be the next day if urgency is an important requirement.
Important note: If you don’t feel comfortable taking part in a Virtual Survey for any reason, we can still carry out an old fashioned home survey in the conventional manner. In this case, our Surveyor who visits your home will observe strict hygiene and social distancing protocols set out by government guidelines. You won’t even need to be in the same room for most of the survey process.
